Lewat beberapa lagu andalannya seperti ‘Shape of You’ dan juga ‘Galway Girl’, penyanyi ini memiliki nama Ed Sheeran. Ternyata, penyanyi ini berasal dari Inggris. Bertempat di Halifax, West Yorkshire, Inggris, penyanyi bersuara khas ini lahir pada tanggal 17 Februari 1991. Saat ini dirinya berumur 26 tahun. Ed Sheeran memiliki nama asli Edward Christopher “Ed” Sheeran. Dirinya merupakan seorang singer-songwritter, actor, gitaris, dan juga produser rekaman.
Dirinya memang sangat menyukai musik sejak kecil dimana dirinya melayani gereja sebagai singer pada usia 4 tahun. Dirinya pun memulai untuk bermain gitar dan tepatnya pada masa SMA yaitu di Mills Thomas, dia mulai untuk menulis lagu. Pada wawancara dengan Zane Lowe, dirinya mengungkapkan bahwa dia suka mendengarkan music dari Van Morisson dalam perjalanan ke London bersama dengan kedua orang tuanya untuk tampil dengan Damien Rice di Irlandia ketika berusia 11 tahun.
Ed Sheeran masuk ke dalam pasar musik dunia pada tahun 2011. Single debutnya kala itu adalah ‘The A Team’; yang berhasil meraih peringkat ke – 3 pada tangga lagu inggris. Dirinya terus berkembang hingga pada akhirnya dilirik oleh banyak perusahaan rekaman yang besar. Saat ini dirinya berada di bawah naungan dari Asylum, Atlantic, dan juga Elektra. Di tahun 2017 ini, dirinya berhasil meraih popularitas yang sangat tinggi lewat lagu ‘Shape of You’ yangmana berhasil menduduki psosisi puncak tangga lagu di Inggris selama kurang lebih 3 bulan. Dirinya bahkan sempat mendapatkan posisi puncak di tangga lagu Billboard.
